I'm going to provide editorial guidance as I go forward making the initial connections today and tomorrow, and if we're able to bring on someone else to assist in that, swell, otherwise I don't think it will be too much trouble for me.

1.  Randall Gross: at some point I said in a message to him that you would be in touch with him--if you are going to send a message to all of the Sci/Journ participants this weekend, that should suffice.

2.  Ratio of administrators to participants: if Emma and Michael Tracey indeed become active and continuously so, that should be enough for the next month or so.  The greatest need in the admin area is for someone who can set up databases to receive and manage incoming information -- now that we have over one hundred people in our main spreadsheet, our current system of keeping records needs to be more automated (for instance, we ought to have a page on the informational website where members can input their own contact information, interests and skills). So short answer, we have enough administrators, but we may not have the skills needed.

3.  From the Sci/Journ member spreadsheet you can get an idea of what information is missing about some of them (mostly scientific areas of interest).  Given the small number of participants, it will okay to just ask them to reply to you (with copies to me, Emma, Seb and Michael) with their interests.

4.  Another thing that is missing in the Sci/Journ project: some of the statements we have made about it suggest there will be some guidance provided by media experts, but I do see that we have anyone in place who has agreed to do that, and only one person identified as being qualified to do so and I am not aware that he (Robert) has accepted the role.

Just checking up on this - how do you think we are in terms of ratios of admins to everyone else? And do I need to take any action on Randall Gross or anyone else? I'm planning on getting things moving in general by finishing up conversations with some of these sci/journ applicants and then introducing them via e-mail probably this weekend.

Wow, I opened up LGF a few minutes ago and  there were three (3) featured pages by Randall Gross ( http://littlegreenfootballs.com/page/226835_Insane_Clown_Posse-_Evangelica  http://littlegreenfootballs.com/page/226861_Gay_Marriage_Is_Ruled_Legal_in  http://littlegreenfootballs.com/page/226839_Activist-_National_tea_party_h ), so I think we can put him in the "writer" category for the science/journalism project, and look forward to matching him up to some scientists to write with.

However, I think we will need plenty of administrative types once the project takes off, so I would say that anyone who expresses and interest in the project should be joined to it, in whatever role they can best play.
