Fwd: sci/journ introductions

As I think I noted to you all, we've got about 30 recruits so far for the science journalism project. As such, I'm about to start things off by pairing up our journalists and scientists based on information we've taken down from them in terms of their areas of expertise and interest, all of which Clark has entered into a shared Google Doc spreadsheet. Most likely we're going to assign one of our other newer participants to oversee the introductions with Clark's assistance, but beyond that, we wanted to get input from the three of you regarding the specific procedure by which we ought to choose the pairs themselves. Let me know if you have any thoughts or if you'd like to see the spreadsheet or have any other questions.

I think it would be best to have a consistent voice from the beginning, so I would say a designated introducer, from the get-go, like Seb Gillen (who evidences a lot of intellectual energy), with me as backup to answer questions.

Question: what is the procedure for pairing? My own answer is that we need to devise the procedure; it should be done with input from Todd, Mano, and Robert.
