I'm not sure about what anyone else thinks it means but to me it defines me purely as a mum and nothing more. When I became a mum it seemed the old me was subsumed by this new entity. This person who was now a mother. It took me a little while to regain myself, my identity outside of that role because of course having a child consumes one in every respect. One feels almost like one is only alive to keep this little scrap of humanity alive. My body produced milk for her. I was literally keeping her alive. I loved that. I loved her. As she grew up and became her own person of course my inner self asserted itself again and I realised I actually had a lot more I wanted to do outside of being a mother. Hence I started my human rights work and suddenly realised my marriage was unfulfilling and had dwindled to routine and habit. I read your comment and felt diminished somehow. It's not your fault. I understand why you said it and I understand the culture
surrounding it. I just feel i'm more than that and want to be seen by you as more than that or not just as a mother you would like to fuck.
