Thank you for your prompt reply and for this opportunity.
I would be most comfortable in the area of the behavioral sciences;
this would include any topics in the areas of psychology, child
development, cognitive impairment, disabilities,* gerontology
(undergraduate minor), industrial/organizational behavior, mind/body
interactions, etc. I'm good at getting quickly up-to-speed on a new
topic, and I have access to research tools online through Ivy Tech
Community College.
I am very much looking forward to this opportunity!
The assistance of Clark Robinson will be most helpful, since I am not
familiar with IRC.
*One of the User's Guides I wrote recently is for the SAS-ASL, a
psychological test that will be rolling out soon. It is a questionnaire
dealing with substance abuse, presented in American Sign Language (ASL),
and is the only such questionnaire standardized for deaf people in their
own language. In order to assist with that project, I had to reacquaint
myself with ASL (I had taken a sign language course in college) and to
become familiar with the most recent research on the reading levels of
deaf Americans, current statistics on substance abuse in that community,
and the availability of treatment for deaf and hard-of-hearing addicts.
My family background includes a brother with a physical disability since
childhood; my professional background includes serving on the board of
directors of a sheltered workshop for individuals with developmental
disabilities.
Thank you again for this opportunity.

Nancy-
Thanks for getting in touch. Your background is perfect.
Send me a short list of the fields you'd be interested in writing
about and I'll put you down as a writer and will eventually pair you
with a scientist of compatible background.
I'll have my associate Clark Robinson send you some additional
information about Project PM and our fundamental goals, which involve
the development and promotion of improved methods of collaboration and
information flow. We have a number of documents you might find
interesting, and our more active participants tend to congregate in
our new IRC channel which itself may be accessed at irc.freenode.net
[1], #projectpm (I recommend Xchat if you're new to IRC, but Clark
will send along a short guide including other methods of getting on).
Let me know if you have any questions, and thanks again for
participating in this program.
