I've forwarded your resume and contact info to Andrew Stein, who's designing the software under which the network will operate. He'll be in touch at some point soon. I'll also have some questions for you at some point in the near future, I believe.
Let me know if you'd be interested in being involved in the sub-network I'm putting together to serve as the governing body for Project PM starting in a few months, after which point it will be taking over from me in terms of making any further decisions regarding how the blogger network and other elements of the project will operate. This would require no commitment on your part; you would simply be free to help influence any decisions that need to be made, contribute ideas, and otherwise have influence over how everything proceeds, while you need not participate at all if you decide not to. This network will operate similarly to the blogger network, although some aspects will necessarily differ; there will be some sort mechanism by which proposals are confirmed then implemented as policy.
Additionally, tell me if you'd like to have a formal role in Project PM and some appropriate title of your own choosing. If not, I'd love to have you as an informal advisor in addition to whatever you may be willing to do with Andrew Stein in terms of the software architecture as well. Obviously, we're all very impressed with your professional background.
I also just spoke to Michael Hastings, who served as Newsweek's Baghdad correspondent for several years in addition to covering the 2008 elections for them before quitting and writing a scathing article on the extent to which the magazine (and traditional outlets in general) opts for reader appeal at the expense of providing the best information it could. He's very enthusiastic about Project PM and has agreed to join up, which will of course be very helpful in terms of the quality of the network as it expands, both by virtue of his own track record in assessing Iraq and Afghanistan as well as in terms of attracting other quality contributors to the blogger network. We hope to bring in a great deal of similarly capable bloggers and traditional commentators alike after I put up the formal announcement, probably later this week.
Thanks again for getting involved, Leia; this project and its intended goals are understandably very important to everyone involved, and having people of your caliber participating will go a long way towards ensuring that we'll have a significant impact on the manner in which the electorate of this and other nations are informed on topics of crucial importance.
