Also, been getting things moving with Project PM; been having weekly meetings with the guys to whom I'm delegating various tasks as well as the other couple of people who are working closely with me on running things in general. Let me know if you want to join us next week on Wednesday 7:30 EST; I believe Charles Johnson will be joining us as well at that time (he'll also be the one who programs the eventual Project PM blogger app and whatever other software we devise in the future; I'd also use him as a correspondent or some such thing in any show we might end up doing, along with Barry Eisler). Also let me know if you'd like me to send you the transcript of last night's meeting, during which we set up a wing of the organization based mostly in New York that will be devising Dada-esque methods of bringing attention to media deficits.

Yeah, I'd really like to stop writing for this publication and frankly for any of them and concentrate instead on things that don't involve Graydon Carter. I've been working on a few more script concepts for you and should be able to come up with some solid ideas on how a pundit show would work.

Graydon Carter likewise shot down a piece I wrote on Richard Cohen because Cohen is a "friend of the magazine." Check this out as well. Vanity Fair is famously bad about this kind of shit, but of course one encounters it everywhere.

Hey Barrett,

Marty’s daughter Evgenia is one of our contributors, so I think I’ll have to pass on the chance to chop him down to size.

Might be late for Value Voters, but let me know if you have anything stellar.

Cheers,
M

Howdy-

Got caught up this week and haven't had time to do that Value Voters Summit piece; let me know if you still want it.

Otherwise, you may have noticed that Martin Peretz, perennial editor at The New Republic, recently got himself in trouble due to having written some over-the-top insults  <http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2010/09/more-on-muslim-life-is-cheap/63201/> directed towards Muslims and asserting that the First Amendment ought not apply to them. I did a whole chapter on Peretz for my upcoming book but still have plenty of notes left over; let me know if you'd like to take a look at a piece on him akin to the Thomas Friedman and Charles Krauthammer articles.
