Scott: You've been invited to this chat room!
me: howdy
me: tim ellis will be joining us
Clark: ok
me: his name is DynamicUno, can you pull him in?
Scott: hold on, need to add him as a contact
Scott: unless someone else can add him
me: I'm not sure how
Scott: is tim's email dynamicuno?
me: yeah
Clark: dynamicuno@gmail
me: that's it
Clark: dynamicuno is not currently online.
me: okay, one momeny
me: well, we can go ahead and start, I thought he was online
me: First
me: We have a free website coming to us from Natalie Pham
me: and obviously we would have use for a website at this point
Scott: excellent news
Clark: free set up & design or free hosting too
Clark: ?
me: so I think we should pick one of our people to interface with her on what exactly we would want for now
me: do we already have a list you wrote up on websites, clark?
me: I seem to recall that you wrote up potential features
Clark: not that i recall
me: if not, let's start up a document and add in our ideas over the next week
Scott: ok
Clark: specs i wrote were all based on peer to peer, no server or central websit
Scott: is there already a general idea of the purpose of the site?
me: and then next meeting we can make a final decision and write up a document for her use, and for whomever else will help us to program other features
me: I believe we spoke about it a few months back
me: about the main purpose
me: I think we did it in a chat, I'll search
Clark: well, here we have an opportunity to be opportunistic, so since it is free, we should consider putting some of the stuff conceived for no-website on a website
me: that's true
Scott: i agree
Scott: how much work is Natalie willing/able to do?
me: I wonder to what extent we could start up some version of the PM blog network based off a website
me: I'm not sure, I would imagine we can get her to put up all of the stuff that a typical website has
me: and then have someone else add on uniques
Clark: well maybe we should each of us make a list of features that we could do on a website, then combine our lists and see what is do-able
Scott: i agree with clark
Scott: we can each make a script for a mock site, then compare and contrast
me: clark: yes
Clark: we have been stuck at a standstill for want of programming for a while, so if we can do some stuff conventionally and get it out there on the net, we can always move to a different platform later when we have a following and can get more resources
Scott: and it may be a good tool like the blogspot to keep members informed and engage in conversation
Scott: i already have a few ideas in mind
me: absolutely. okay, we'll do that this week, let's start up a document for that
me: Tim is on now

Clark: hello Tim
Scott: hey tim
dynamicuno: Hello
Scott: Tim, can you see the previous dialogue?
dynamicuno: I'm afraid not
me: next thing is, I'm going to finish up the e-mail send-out when I get home, will forward the draft to you tonight or in the morning
Scott: e-mail sent-out = newsletter?
me: we probably need to go ahead and pick out the people we've spoken to who have backgrounds in programming and maybe form a group of a couple of them
me: scott, yeah, newsletter
Scott: Tim, just as a heads up, before this, we were talking about the possibility of having a website and what may be contained on the site
dynamicuno: Alright
Scott: Barrett, have you spoken to charles?
dynamicuno: Seems sensible to have a site
me: yes, he said he'd be happy to help us with technical expertise
dynamicuno: Are we looking at Project PM as self-contained software or is it going to be an integral part of a site?
me: I haven't asked if he'd be willing to go so far as to program the web app but I will do so eventually
me: we originally we're going to use a site at all
Clark: one objection to a website were that it would have ongoing costs, but now that we have one that will be free, we are re-thinking
me: but we've been delayed by the problem of ensuring compatibility among various blog formats and outlets owned by publishers and all that, so right now we're going to set up a website to facilitate what we've already got going on
me: as well as to possibly be used to serve as a makeshift version of what we ultimately want tin terms of blogging connectivity
me: basically we're trying to set things in motion such that we get the PM software we want at some point in the reasonable future while also sort of procedurally attending to other tasks
me: is there any thing else in particular I'm forgetting?
me: in terms of what we have to discuss today?
Scott: ok so one task to be added to list is to create a blueprint for a website
Scott: another task is to come up with a list of eligible programmers, etc.
me: that should be enough homework for this week
dynamicuno: Alright. Barrett you said you have somebody who may develop the site for us? Failing that I have contacts with a variety of website designers who have done work for me in the past who may be willing to do this.
Scott: the second task (list of eligible programmers) is un-necessary for all of us to do. If this info is available on the PM spreadsheet then I'd be more than happy to create a special doc for this
me: We've got this one coming free, but thatnks
dynamicuno: Alright great
me: Okay, thanks, Scott
me: Just share that when it's up and I'll contact them
Clark: i put a column on the spreadsheet to ID those who have programming skills, (that we know of)
Clark: the spreadsheet is sortable for theat
Clark: that
Scott: thanks clark
Scott: makes it much easier for me then
me: also
Scott: Barrett, you've included in the upcoming email (newsletter) a Africa group invite as well as the request/question for inner circle?
Clark: there are only four
me: yep
me: there are a couple of others who aren't on the spreadsheet that I can contact as well
Scott: clark: sys = programmers?
Clark: maybe should change the nomenclature for 'inner circle', sounds snooty
Clark: yes
Scott: clark: no argument
me: word
Scott: any suggestions?
me: THE VERANDA OF THE ENLIGHTENED ELITE
me: I mean
dynamicuno: High Council
Clark: well, means they have some geekery in their history, dont really know what programming includes
dynamicuno: jej
dynamicuno: heh
me: we won't even call it anything
Scott: 'Tasks' it is
me: we'll just refer to it as the weekly meeting
dynamicuno: That works
Clark: maybe just say "active associates"
dynamicuno: Will meetings typically be Sundays?
me: Not necessarily
me: we just couldn't do it earlier in the week
me: Want to meet next Wednesday evening?
me: And perhaps start doing them on Wednesdays?
Scott: wednesdays work fo rme
Scott: for me*
Clark: fine for me
dynamicuno: That sounds fine. 7:30 PM good for everyone? My day job gets me out at 6:30
Clark: 730 EST?
me: sounds good
Clark: or EDT or whatever
Scott: works
dynamicuno: Yes Eastern, sorry
Clark: is dallas in central or mountain?
dynamicuno: Central I believe
me: okay, I've got to get some where now
me: central
me: feel free to mingle
me: Wednesday, 7:30 EST, then?
dynamicuno: Sure thing
Clark: OK
Scott: barrett, have one more minute?
me: thanks, guys, I'll be around
me: yep
Scott: my only task question is who should be included in the science/journalism doc as edit/view?
me: hmmm
me: Clark, what do you think?
Scott: clearly existing participants should be included as something
Clark: mano, todd, robert L, scott, tim, me
Clark: and any other science types that we glean from teh spreadsheet
me: should we allow people to view the results by request?
me: participants, I mean?
Scott: "view the results"?
me: as in read the transcript
Scott: yes, I agree with that
me: okay
me: anything else?
Scott: nope, we just need to do a request of interest for that
me: will put in newsletter
Scott: k
Scott: clark, can you email me mano, todd and robert's email addresses?
me: another thing, actually
Clark: tim--later today i will send you some stuff, some of it you already have seen probably, spread sheets with descriptions of PM features, that we want to look at for possible inclusion in a start-up website based version of PM----it was conceived as a peer to peer, serverless, concept, but now that we have a free website we are going to be opportunistic and retool the concept
me: I think we should ask Mano to join our meetings
me: anyone disagree?
Scott: i defer and have no objections
dynamicuno: Ok Clark, that sounds good. I am not familiar with Mano but I defer to your judgement.
Clark: everybody's email addresses are in the spreadsheet, except for a few of Barrett's circle in Dallas

Clark: Mano is a theoretical physicist, but is currently leading an educational innovation think tank sort of thing at Case Western Reserve
Scott: ok, thanks
Clark: Tim i will send you the contact roster spreadsheet later today, in case you don't already have it
me: okay, just sent an e-mail to Mano
Scott: ok i just finished updating task list

me: thanks, Scott
Scott: no
Scott: np
Clark: oh, barrett, you are somewhere you do not have accesss to the spreadsheet, OK, I will e-mail the addresss
Scott: are we all good?
me: yeah, I think we're set
Scott: perfecto
Clark: sent addressses
Clark: I'm gone
