Hi Kari,

Let's try and get out a newsletter in the next couple of weeks.

I will assemble a mailing list, then pass it on it on to Barrett to use in sending out the newsletter, so it comes from his e-mail address.

I think we should keep the first one pretty short, consisting of updated information on Barrett's recent online publications, information about his new book. and links to posts, columns and articles that may be of interest to Project PM participants--just as you did in the item you posted on the Workshop blog.

So my suggestion for preparation would be just to look for and bookmark links of interest so that we may include them in the newsletter.

Keep your eyes open especially for items of particular interest written by or relating to the following writers who have at some point expressed interest in Project PM:

Allison Kilkenney (involved in many activities, including a blog called Unreported.)
Michael Hastings
Charles Johnson
Mano Singham (educator, publishes a blog at Case Western Reserve University)
Todd Essig (blogs at Psychology Today)
Jeremy Sapienza (web editor and publisher, also writes on his own)
John Knefel (has a column at The Faster Times, but does other things)
Timothy Ellis (writes at Huffington Post)
Ellen Johnson (leading secularist) (if you are not familiar with her history, you can find it online, it is fascinating, though grim in part)
Jamie Kilstein (comedian, married to Allison Kilkenney)
Mark Adomanis (was one of my favorites at True/Slant, but I have not come across anything by him in English since T/S folded)

Here are some writers I do not know much about--take a look at their online material and see if there are posts we might want to link to for the benefit of other Project PM participants:
TS, a blogger at Instaputz
Norman Rogers, his blog is www.anamericanlion.com
Henry I. Silverman, educator at Roosevelt U., I have written down that he edits a media watchdog blog, but I have not found it
"Occam's Hatchet," diarist at Daily Kos

Barrett has also been contacted by Juan Cole, Andrew Sullivan, Glen Greenwald and novelist Barry Eisler, but they are so widely read that it would not be informative to link to them extensively, plus I leave relating to celebrities strictly in Barrett's hands.

So between Barrett's activities, some links to some of the folks above, and other stuff we notice online, I hope we will be able to assemble some interesting and useful information to share.

Scott has been doing some work on behalf of the three hikers imprisoned in Iran; I will ask him if he has anything he would like to include in the the newsletter.

Hey Barrett, Scott, what am I forgetting?  Is there anyone at CSI who we might want to be looking at to link to?

Kari, if you have additional ideas for content, by all means let us know.

Hi Kari,

Thanks for your recent post to the workshop blog.  Due to the very limited activity on that blog, we have discontinued the blog and plan to implement a newsletter to see if that can be a better way to relate to interested associates about Project PM.

Important question: would you be interested in helping with such a newsletter?  It would not be a big commitment of time, and would consist primarily of maintaining a discipline of sharing information we already possess with the members.  Perhaps Barrett has already discussed this with you.
