Thank you for defending the journalist on your Vanity Fair commentary. As I was reading Hasting's piece, I was reminded of my favorite author, Joan Didion and her commentary and short essays from the 1960's and 70's. It is difficult to find anything comparable in journalism today and as a young writer it is promising again to read- or at least harbor the feeling of reading- the truth.
Hasting takes us there with "The Runaway General" and I hope to see more to come.
