These are regular ol' agents, a couple are independents and a couple are with larger firms (such as Lucas, who might be our best bet). I do agree that there's an audience here, just need to find right agent. Hard to say what counts as a good run; twenty thousand is certainly respectable, but something like this would go on selling for quite a while and might end up at a hundred thousand over a period of five, ten years, maybe shorter time.

are they a b to b house?  might have to concentrate on those agents or publishers who deal with non-fiction/niche.  its crazy not to think that there isn't an audience here...how many copies is considered a good run to sell?  in any event, thanks for the effort..have five pages of a chapter done..just need to buckle down and get it done.

Thank you so much for sending along your query and for giving BookEnds a chance to consider your work. While I found your query intriguing I’m afraid I wasn’t sufficiently enthusiastic to ask for more at this time.

As I’m sure you know, publishing is a subjective business
and I’m sure there’s another agent out there better suited to your work.

I wish you the best of luck and the greatest success.

Sincerely,

Jessica-

This is Barrett Brown; I’m an author and contributor to Vanity Fair, The Huffington Post, and other publications, and I'm serving as an editor for a book currently being written by actor/producer Pat Stack that's targeted towards entertainment professionals in general and aspiring actors in particular; the kick is that it deals with how to advance one's career in the industry by way of tactics used by salesmen. Stack himself started out as an actor (Rambo, Dynasty, Cheers) and a comedian (worked with Nathan Lane, who was his roommate at the time) but moved to sales in the early '90s due to the necessity of raising a family. He ended up making millions as Yahoo's first ad salesman; in 2002, he started his own production company and remains a producer to this day. Among other things, the book draws upon conversations with old industry buddies like Brian Dennehy, with whom he's been working closely for years.

Let me know if you'd like to see the proposal or if you know someone else who might be interested.
