It is great to hear you have another book in the works and sounds like Texas is a good place to get it started.  I'll be glad to read anything you send me, anytime, of course.  I enjoyed your first book--used copies were $150 on Amazon, so I bought the Kindle edition and read on my PC, hope you got a few cents out of that.

Yeah, I'm probably going to do that; I've actually had a laptop stolen once before. Clark, you should definitely get a surge protector.

I may head down to Texas for a month and a half or even two in a couple of weeks; supposed to go hunting with my dad in July, see my mom in Dallas, and Caleb Pritchard is living in Tyler where he works at an NBC affiliate, so will probably stay with him for a few weeks in order to check out the big city Tyler nightlife, and there are a number of other people I haven't seen in a while, including my uncle and PM participant Kim Lancaster, who's dying of lung cancer (although not nearly as fast as the doctors predicted). I could use a change of scenery  as well as fewer distractions (have been dating a lot) and this would also allow me to save a good deal of money for my return to NYC in August, thus allowing me to concentrate more on the project and less on uninteresting gigs. Additionally, Caleb and I can work closely in the evenings on Project PM.

The main reason, though, is that I've decided that as soon as I finish all my current assignments and have a little free time, I'm going to start work on my third book, which will involve various concepts related to PM, mostly pertaining to the fundamental dynamics of information flow but also more specific issues. I'll also distribute the manuscript to our participants as soon as the rough draft is completed in order to better inform everyone regarding what we're doing and why it is necessary. More on that later. I'll also want to use the both of you as sounding boards as I go about writing the book; Clark, your suggestions on the VF manifesto piece thus far have been very helpful, and I'll send the rough draft to you as well, Scott, when it is completed (by the weekend at the latest).

Will get back to you both later on our current tasks when I've gotten back on track work-wise.

Barrett, I think I may have mentioned this to you before, but depending on how often your laptop may be susceptible to theft, I'd consider investing in LoJack for Laptop. They recover 75% of laptops which "phone" into their system. Copies may be found online at retailers for about $30. For many it's not the cost of the laptop but rather what's on it.

Clark, I don't know how common T-storms are where you live, but if you don't have one already then I would consider getting a decent-sized surge protector. Tripp Lite is known for their good trade-off between quality and cost. I've purchased products from them on Amazon for $30-$35 which come with a money-back guarantee including the cost of failed hardware i.e. laptop. http://www.tripplite.com/
