Well, I was in the middle of sending you an e-mail about how I was going to tidy up the notes I'd made on my notepad program and send them along, but my laptop was just stolen; I had gone out on the front porch with my coffee and computer to work, some guy about my age was sitting there and asked for a cig, I shared mine with him, he asked for another rolling paper, I went inside the building for literally 15 seconds, and he and my laptop were gone. Luckily, the bodega next door caught him on their cameras and we have a good pic of him. I called the police and did a little ride-around with them (more on that later; we should probably chat on the phone later today anyway in order to catch up on a few things, so give me a call at your convenience if you would and I'll tell you the amusing parts). I'll be doing an article on all of this because of something interesting that happened during the ride-along, and will also be running an article on BushwickBk with the guy's picture, which I've just gotten from the store in the form of video security footage. Also going to be putting up fliers and whatnot with the picture. I gave the cops the serial number in case it shows up at a pawn shop or some such.
Anyway, long story short, this won't be much of a problem, as I only had a couple thousand words of material/notes actually on the computer, with everything else on Google Docs. Meanwhile, my friend I'm staying with this month has a computer which I'm using now and will be able to use while he's at work, and I'm going to be staying at one of my girlfriends' places for a week before moving into my new place at the first of the month, and she has a laptop I can use as well. Also luckily, I'm assuming that I can borrow one from a friend for a while then get a used one off of Craigslist for very cheap, and perhaps one of my parents will spring for it. Won't need to buy one for a couple of weeks anyway. My real regret is that I had downloaded some old Nintendo games and a program to play them and was hoping to spend some time relaxing today, but it just wasn't meant to be. But this will all make a good article for some new pub; perhaps this will turn into a net gain if I happen to establish a relationship with a new editor.
So, long story short (trying again), this shouldn't effect my output or ability to oversee PM much if at all, although I may end up calling you every once in a while to discuss matters we normally speak of via e-mail if someone needs to use the computer I'm borrowing.
Also, lost a good work afternoon but will go ahead and try to finish that manifesto with your suggestions tonight. Try to call today if you can as we need to make some preparations in order to maximize the effect of its release; I'm going to be shooting out a press release and that sort of thing, for instance.
Also, the girl I'll be staying with this week has a nice Mac with a better camera than I had, so I'm going to do a couple of explanatory videos some time within the next few days. Let me know if you have any tips with regards to what specifically ought to be addressed in these. In addition to one based on the manifesto content, will also do another addressed to other media folks, making the case for our position on the media and laying out benefits of joining, etc.
In addition to the "bibliography" (earlier message) I am extracting material from e-mails and editing it to be put into the Google docs later. Telling you now to avoid duplicative endeavors.
