Thanks for the note. Actually, I just spent the last week getting off of skag after having blown the second round of my book advance and all my other money in about two weeks in addition to whatever I spent in the proceeding couple of months; gave my ID and bank cards to some old friends from Texas here in Bushwick and bit the bullet. Luckily I'd gotten off last August and February as well, so was only dealing with two/three months of use this round. Anyway, I prefer cold turkey as I'm an extremist. It sucked almost as bad as the first time I quit, but I feel almost back to normal now, exercising and eating and taking fish oil and all that. Going to stay with friends for the next few weeks then rent a room next month, will probably leave my finances in someone else's hands and have them dole me out money for a while just to be safe.
Anyway, let me know if you want to hang out sometime soon; I'm off the Morgan stop on the L for the next two weeks, then off to Harlem for a bit, and then most likely back to Bushwick.
