I think that in person you are probably a decent fellow who cares for this country and who tries to do the right thing, but that in the realm of politics, your honor and integrity are non-existent. Clearly, your religious beliefs have not done anything to prompt you to act in accordance with basic ethical standards. And although I doubt it will play out this way, I sincerely invite you to ask yourself why you have chosen dishonesty and misinformation over a mere correction that would have taken you 30 seconds to write and which would have cost you nothing in terms of ideological point-scoring.
You may have no regard for my opinion, but you should.

Just wanted to check one more time to see if you are indeed going to be running a correction regarding your mistaken claim that I hadn't addressed the RPG. Try to let me know soon if you would, please, as I'm writing a short piece on the aftermath of the story and need to know how everything plays out.

I didn't really mean to refer to you personally as a fascist, and I'm not opposed to neoconservative foreign policy other than having no respect for the people who happened to be the ones to try to implement it and failed miserably. I think the Iraq war was entirely justifiable insomuch as that a dictatorship has no right to exist, but it was terribly implemented, and the trillion dollars it will cost could have been left with the American people to use as they see fit - or half of that money could have been used to entirely transform Africa through a variety of make-work programs, or to replace our failing infrastructure with state-of-the-art sort just as most previous empires have done. It was simply a disastrous decision, as geopolitics is a zero-sum game and so is the expending of our treasury, not to mention American lives.
Anyway, we should debate soon. It wouldn't take any longer than it does to write blog post and would serve as one if you published it.
Thanks,
Barrett Brown

I read your post and had some differences ... honestly, a bit long on the introduction, but I think you're up and up Wikileaks' drawback, for the most part ... The media's love story on this is worse than you let on, though ...
Mostly, I take issue when you describe folks as "fascists." Perhaps, but I'm not. Neocon? Guilty. Racial white supremacist totalitarian murderer? Never.
No time for a debate right now. Papers due tomorrow ...

Howdy, Donald-
A couple things:
1. Wanted to see if you've had a chance to look over my post regarding Wikileak's dishonesty in wrongly characterizing its video as depicting "murder" as well as my own error in taking them at their word (something I won't be doing in the future, as I noted in the post). I'd point out again that I had already run a correction at the top of my initial piece noting that an RPG could indeed be seen in the video well before you criticized me for supposedly maintaining otherwise even after this was pointed out, so insomuch as that you made a mistake (though an honest and understandable one) by characterizing me as unwilling to address the facts after such point as they are brought to light, I would appreciate it if you would remember to include a brief note correcting your assertion when you have a moment, as I think you mentioned you would do so in an earlier e-mail.
2. Also wanted to ask if you have any objections to that recent Wikileaks post in general.
3. Finally, have you given any thought to my proposal for an e-mail debate regarding the nature of the United States as pertains to religion in general and Christianity in particular. Please let me know; I believe our respective audiences would enjoy and benefit from such an exchange.
4. Of course, I'm always open to settling the issue of R.S. McCain. You may be aware that my next book is coming out this summer and includes a chapter on the fellow. I'd be happy to share with you or anyone else that particular chapter and to address any objections you might have.
5. I'd also be willing to debate you on any other topic of your choosing.
