Well, the window may have already closed. I don't know what other projects you're working on, but my view is that appearing on national TV to promote one project ultimately helps all of your projects, even if one of your other projects is trying to get someone with an approaching execution date off death row.
Here's Nell Painter's contact information. She will remember the Vanderbilt case.

You can try to reach Ben Jealous through my brother. My brother Christopher's home number is 914 235 2129. His wife Sharon Epperon, is the sister of Ben Jealous's wife, Lia. Ben Jealous was also on Colbert. Despite the family connection, feel free to twist arms, as Jealous should have helped me with this case, but did not, even though he knew about it at the time (2002), and Lia did not help either (in 2002 or 2005), even though she worked for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
I'll look at the Project PM information.
Cheers,

I'll see what I can do in this regard, been swamped with some projects so haven't had the time to promote the book as much as I should.Speaking of which, I don't recall if I mentioned Project PM to you, but I'd like to have to on board if only as a member of our governing network. This wouldn't require any time commitment from you whatsoever, but on the contrary, you'd be able to contribute as much as you'd like in shaping the form we take and advancing our goals. Narrowly, our agenda revolves around media reform - particularly, attacking shitty columnists and "reporters" like R.S. McCain. You could be of great assistance in all of this; simply having your name attached would be of help. This would also give you the opportunity to strike back at McCain (whom I'll also be going after again upon the release of my book this summer, incidentally). You've probably heard that he's back at the Washington Times now, no doubt preparing to ruin someone else's career in order to feed his own. It's time to fuck up all these people, and I've spent the last six months preparing what many of us consider to be a viable means of doing so. I'll tell you more if you'd like; meanwhile, here's a link to some pertinent info on how this works: http://trueslant.com/barrettbrown/2010/03/24/project-pm/--On Tue, Apr 13, 2010 at 2:43 AM, Jonathan Farley <lattice.theory@gmail.com> wrote:
I hope your publicist is on the case getting you on TV! Your book is out this month, correct? This is the opportune time, with the Confederacy nonsense in the news in Virginia and Mississippi. I realize it's only one chapter of your book, but it gets your entire book coverage.
So ask Nell Painter, contact Ben Jealous, head of the NAACP (he was also on Colbert and Maher), through his wife Lia Epperson-Jealous, to see how they can get you on Colbert. Be unpleasant if necessary---Ben and Lia should be embarrassed over their role in what happened to me; you have my permission to use whatever harsh methods you deem fit. The fact you're a white Southerner might even convince Jealous to make you the NAACP's representative on TV to discuss these issues.
Good luck
