Hi, Sergey-

I tried to post this to your Facebook wall, but couldn't for some reason.

Regarding the apartment bombings, the totality of the evidence had convinced me that this was indeed an FSB operation, so much so that I wrote about it in my upcoming book (and the fact checkers, though they had questions about other aspects of the book, found absolutely nothing that needed tweaking in that section). I'd be happy to address any objections you have, although I'd prefer to do it in a public venue so that whatever time I spend addressing those objections will be worth it in terms of the number of people who read it. If you'd like, go ahead and write a blog post about this and I'll respond from True/Slant afterwards. Let me know if you'd be interested in doing so.

I'd note that I'm not the sort to ascribe to such theories as these without a great deal of examination of the facts. I write for Skeptic and the Skeptical Inquirer, for instance. I'm aware of the argument you've put forth this morning regarding the small explosive device that went off and injured no one, and I'll address that explanation and why I and others consider it be nonsense, but in the proper venue. I'd also note that there is nothing patently ludicrous about suspecting that certain segments of a government would pull off a false flag attack, nor in suspecting that elements of a Russian ruling class would consider killing some Russians and lying about it in order to achieve a political goal. And your assertion that I am somehow similar to the 9/11 truthers for taking this position is, I think, ludicrous. Why would that be the case? Because a group of people wrongly think that one government engaged in a false flag attack, it is crazy to think that any government has ever pulled off a false flag attack? My argument should stand or fall based on my arguments, not based on the arguments of others regarding a different topic.

Also, have you looked into Project PM? Please do so, as I'd be interested in having you participate in both the blogger and legislative network.

Thanks,
