Thanks for getting in touch, and apologies for the delay in replying. We'll be getting closer to setting up the sub-network in a few weeks, at which point I'll get back to you with more info and let you know what sort of issues are likely to come up at the outset, and what sort of features we'll be wanting to adapt later on that will require some specifics to be decided upon, and all that, so that you can start thinking about the topics you'll be helping to decide upon. Also, remember that members of this legislative network can also propose ideas regarding how Project PM's goals can be advanced, both within the context of our blogger network and in other respects; as we've been more successful than expected in terms of recruiting prominent bloggers and as the network will basically grow on its own by way of bloggers recruiting others, I'll have the time and resources to implement additional strategies by which to bring attention to media deficits and expand the audience of our bloggers, so I'll always be looking for new ways to do so.

In the meantime, you might want to read up on certain aspects of media theory - aside from being useful to you in terms of your participation in the sub-network, some of it is also quite fascinating. Marshall McCluhan, for instance, coined the phrase "global village" back in the '60s and wrote a very insightful book called The Gutenberg Galaxy. I've only read excerpts of that as well as essays summarizing that and other of his works, and I'm not sure if it's available online, but I'll send you a link if I find an online text. I've also attached a couple of interesting essays on the subject that you might find interesting as a jumping-off point. I'm still reading up on some of these concepts myself, and I've found all of this to be very helpful in understanding the opportunities that exist today and which we'll be trying to take advantage of in the years ahead.

Anyway, I'll get back to you when we're closer to forming the sub-network, but feel free to shoot me an e-mail if you have any questions or ideas in the meantime. And, yes, I'll keep you anonymous; I'm assuming you would like to use the name Prairiefire for the sub-network and all other matters?

Thanks,

Barrett Brown

Dear Barret Brown,

Hello! I am a registered user on Little Green Footballs and blog under the tag name prairiefire.  I read your post on the overnight thread in regards to the new blog you are creating with Charles, Project PM.  I would be very interested in being involved in this project in the sub-network of non bloggers you described.
I am a Christian, liberal, stay at home parent who has found an intriguing community through LGF.  I appreciate the opportunity that Charles provides to voice my own opinion and read the differing opinions of others.  LGF is not an echo chamber, but a forum for expression that Charles keeps free of hate and abuse.
Thanks for your time and good luck with your new project!
     Sincerely,  Sally Stockwell  AKA  prairiefire
P.S.  I know it goes practically without saying that anonymity is appreciated, buy I will mention it anyway!  Thanks,  Sally
