10:59 PM me: so Michael Hastings, the Baghdad correspondent, is in; just had an hour-long phone conversation with him
11:00 PM Andrew: nice
me: he was with Newsweek for six years and when he left he wrote an article attacking them for their frivolousness and whatnot
he's now with GQ and other pubs
11:01 PM so he's our first mainstream writer aside from me
I also told him the true nature of the network
and he's totally excited
he'll be able to do a lot for us
Andrew: come get a beer with me after work tomorrow, I want to talk to you about some software stuff
me: do you want me to get Charles Johnson to ask for software folks for you at this point or should I hold off?
11:02 PM okay, will do
Andrew: not yet
but prolly tomorrow
i think im going to release the core code this week and then transition to a management role if I can get enough coders interested
11:03 PM ie, do planning, bug lists, documentation, architecture, deployment, code releases, patches, merges, repo management, deploys, etc
but not as much actual coding
if we have enough coders that is
11:13 PM me: very good
I'll feel out people in the meantime so when you're ready to take on more coders, we'll be able to get them
also, Hastings is interested in Anonymous
11:15 PM you may remember that I've been corresponding with the guy who launched the Scientology raids by way of the YouTube video and the protest organizing sites, which he still has
I told him about that
Andrew: interested?
me: going to tell the Anon about Project PM now and get him involved in a shadow advisory/tactical role
interested as in thinks it's awesome and understands the potential in that dynamic
11:16 PM the guy's totally on the same page as us
