Hey Barrett,
Thanks so much for the quick response—that would be fantastic. I
really appreciate you sharing it around. And I’d be more than happy to do an
email interview, or put you in touch with some other great people here at
Pathfinder for any questions I can’t answer. Great suggestion on the NGO front.
Looking forward to chatting more soon.
All the best,
Jaime-Alexis

Howdy, Jaime-Alexis-
Nice to hear from you and to learn that you're putting your
communications skills to noble use; many of our other classmates appear to have
gone mercenary.
I'd be happy to help promote this. I've just forwarded your
e-mail to my contact at TED, and will also send it along to some fairly
prominent bloggers and commentators I know. Additionally, I'll see if I can
arrange to do a piece on Pathfinder and your upcoming campaign for some print
publication; if so, we can do an e-mail interview between the two of us for
additional material. At the very least, I can do a write-up or two for
True/Slant, Huffington Post, Daily Kos, and perhaps a couple of other venues,
while also forwarding the info along to other journalists who might be
interested.
Off the top of my head, I would suggest obtaining contact
info for directors of communications at other NGOs and asking them if they'd be
willing to promote the campaign within their own organizations as well. I'll
see what else I can think of and get back to you soon.
Thanks,

Hey
Barrett,
Hope you’re doing well. It’s been what—since
high school I think—since we’ve touched base, but I have been actively
following your writing for VF, HuffPost, etc and have a quick question/request.
Since you’re a writing/journalist guru, I’d love any tips, ideas or suggestions
you have about sharing a new initiative Pathfinder just launched yesterday: 200
Thousand for 200 Million. The goal is to achieve 200,000 shares of the
videos on the www.Girl2Woman.org
site by International Women’s Day to raise critical awareness about the more
than 200 million women around the world who lack access to modern
contraceptives. As 2010 International Women’s Day approaches with the theme,
"Equal Rights, Equal Opportunity," we believe a crucial aspect of
improving women’s lives is missing in the current development dialogue:
reproductive health. So we’re trying to raise as much awareness as possible.
We’re
pushing it out and sharing with a range of new media sources…feminist bloggers,
reproductive health activists/advocates, etc but we’d love to get some
traditional media coverage as well. Do you know anyone who might be interested
in this subject matter? Or who might be interested in learning about the
challenge? If you have any ideas, I’m all ears J
More
information about the challenge is available here: http://www.pathfind.org/site/PageServer?pagename=News_International_Womens_Day_2010_Challenge.
Many,
many thanks in advance for your help. On a personal note, would love to hear
more about your writing and life in NY. Maybe we can grab coffee some time when
I’m down in the area?
All
the best,
Jaime-Alexis
