Incidentally, I've just recruited Shanna Carpenter, a former reporter from Trinidad who's worked for TED for a year and a half and who writes for their website, runs the associated online community, does a great deal of research into aspects of social networking, and helps organize their annual get-together, among other things. I'm going to have her assist with figuring out how to best handle some of the remaining details regarding the form the network will take, as she knows pretty much everything there is to know about that sort of thing.
