Barrett, thank you for reaching out!  I'm excited to be part of the Scallywag & Vagabond team.  There's much attention being brought to S&V.  The event we hosted Friday night along with Cleverly Clothed was a complete success.  The turn out assured me that S&V is a grandiose magazine with much creativity and audacity to set standards in New York.

I'm interested to learn about your upcoming projects.  Please keep me up to date with the details.  I'll be sure to do my own research.

Once again, Barrett, thank you for reaching out.  I'm looking forward to meeting you and working with you as well.

Scallywag and Vagabond: a dissection of pop culture, a platform for the avant-garde, an offering from the arbiters of taste and probing interviews. Imagine; a fusion of editorials from the New Yorker meets the savagery of Gawker with the allure of Vanity Fair.

Thomas-

This is Barrett Brown, assistant editor of Scallywag and Vagabond. Christopher tells me you've come on board as our new publicist, so I wanted to introduce myself as well as thank you for throwing in your lot with us. I myself have just recently joined up in my current capacity after having written for S&W on occasion last year (even though Chris can't yet pay for articles, attending $5,000-a-table galas was a nice change of pace from eating tuna fish in my apartment).

Over the next couple of months, I hope to increase the readership of S&V by associating it with my various other projects and pulling in readers from the outlets for which I write. Currently, I'm a regular contributor to Vanity Fair, The Huffington Post, True/Slant, and Skeptic, and my second book is set for release in April. As I announced on Friday in a piece for Vanity Fair, I'm launching a rather ambitious project by which I hope to establish a consortium of bloggers and other commentators who will draw upon software currently in development by an associate of mine in an effort to prompt greater accountability on the part of traditional news outlets as well as to increase the influence of the political blogosphere in order that the American public might be better informed than they have been in the past. Friday's brief mention of the project has already received a good deal of attention, and I'll be making a more formal announcement this week on HuffPo and other outlets. Meanwhile I've managed to recruit a number of influential people who will in turn be recruiting others, and so we can expect a large number of eyes turned towards S&V in the near future, as we'll be using the site as one of several staging grounds from which to operate, which is why I wanted to give you a heads-up on this.

Thanks again for joining us; I'm sure I'll see you soon, as I'll be covering events again starting some time in February.
