Sorry about all that; I didn't realize I'd be moving until recently, but as I said, I'll provide you with whatever content you need so that you're compensated for the advance you gave me. You'll actually come out a bit ahead, as I believe that $30 of that $70 was for the most recent column, so you're getting two columns for $40 instead of $60. Did you want me to write a column today or just wait till Monday and do the last one the Monday after that?
I already gave Ava your e-mail address already and told her she should submit a feature. She really does have potential in some respects; I even had her edit a script for this video spot I'm doing for the political action committee I'm working for, and she actually made some pretty good suggestions. Anyway, just ignore her if whatever she sends isn't any good.

Why does this always happen when I pay ahead? Well, let's just do two more columns and eh, I'll pass on the Ava unless she's really good.
Good luck.

Hey, I'm moving out of Bushwick at the end of the month and over to the Lorimer/Union neighborhood with this chick (largely in order to escape the web of crime and drugs into which I've fallen into over the past two years - instead of gentrifying the block, I've actually managed to make it worse), so I guess I can't really contribute anymore. Are we squared away in terms of money? You had advanced me something like $70 above the $300 you'd owed me for past articles. I'm not going to have time to do the lobster piece, but I'm thinking I owe you $40 worth of work or something of the sort, in which case I can get you a column today and another one next Monday if you'd like. Or, I can do one great big farewell feature in which I ruminate on Bushwick in general and do a retrospective of the various bits of drama; I'll make it funny. Let me know what works best for you.
I'm going to get that Ava chick in touch with you; she might be able to do a weekly column or at least some features for you. She's pretty funny, although you'll have to edit her stuff a bit for punctuation.
