I edited this a bit in case you might prefer this version, which I've pasted below.

You can Enlighten The Vote by supporting North Carolina Congressman Cecil Bothwell. Upon being elected to the Asheville City Council in 2009, Congressman Bothwell declined to place his hand on a Bible or give an oath to any god in the course of the subsequent swearing-in ceremony. Councilman Bothwell does not conceal his Atheism; rather, he openly discusses it, viewing plain honesty to be a greater virtue than easy victory. His political opponents, of course, are happy to have this opening by which to avoid the issues at hand and instead whip up anti-secularist sentiment against a loyal citizen whose views on religion happen not to coincide with that of the majority. By voluntarily subjecting himself to such inevitable attacks, irrelevant to the role in which he has chosen to serve, Bothwell has already proven himself to be a man of integrity. Have his detractors done likewise?

Please support Councilman Bothwell with your donations,  letters to the editor, campaign volunteer work and, if you live in his district, your votes. Each time. Spread the word!

Congressman Bothwell:  54 Fulton Street, Asheville, NC  28801
