 As I sit at my desk contemplating the days occurrences, I hear the old steel door open and then close again. Must be midnight. I get out of my chair and begin to pace back and forth anxtiously awaitng the phone to ring. This is what I've waited for all day, a symphony of the most beautiful notes these ears have heard. These weren't just sounds. This symphony as I wish to call it began a sequence of events that made me feel like a free man. First the door, then the phone, then the buzzing of my cell, then (and this is the best part) they let me leave the unit. I wasn't alone. There was Bobby the dope fiend, Boo the slinger, and of course the god father K-Black. We cleaned bathrooms and waxed floors overnight, shit like that. The perks were, we got real coffee, and we had a radio. I remember when one of the guys from the old crew told me he got to listen to music. Most everybody else didn't think it was worth being up all night 7 days a week, but we also got .50 cents an hour. Out of 200 or so people about 10 got to listen to music. I can proudly say I was one of those people.

What's up bro. I'm looking to get into writing full time. I've been searching for a career for years and believe now that none of the things I tried fit right for one reason or another. I'm intelligent, opinionated, and passionate about what I do. I was actually most successful as a cook and if the restaurant business wasn't suffering so much I might further pursue that. First I'd really like to see what I can achieve at what I would like to do most which would be writing. I believe I have an ability to translate to a wide audience. I'm 26 I've been to jail, rehab, homeless all the way to running the kitchen for the Dutchess County Office of the Aging and putting out 5-600 hot meals everyday by 9:30 am or sous chef at the #1 Zagat rated French Bistro in Dutchess and Westchester Counties combined.
