Hi, Sarah-

I would be interested in talking to you further so that we could get to know each other better. My name is Barrett Brown. I'm 28 and work as a writer, author, and political activist. My first book was released in 2007, and my second will be appearing in April. I also write for Vanity Fair, The Huffington Post, Skeptic, True/Slant, and a few other publications here and there, and am also involved in a few other, more longterm projects. I serve as director of communications for Enlighten the Vote, a political action committee dedicated to the Establishment Clause of the Constitution, and as assistant editor of Scallywag and Vagabond, an online magazine of cultural commentary geared mostly to Manhattan. I enjoy reading history books as well as playing basketball, and spend much of my spare time studying a wide range of subjects related to philosophy of science, futurism, and such concepts as the technological singularity as well as the potential implications thereof. Recently, I've been making an informal study of orality vs. literacy as pertains to both the classical Greeks and today's information age. I smoke cigarettes and drink moderately. Though I'm from Texas, I now live in New York City. I have wanted to marry for a long time but I find that American women are all busy with their careers as cable news anchorwomen and that sort of thing, which I find to be off-putting.
