Hi, Neil-

This is Barrett Brown. You gave me some advice back in 2002 or thereabouts, at such time as I had a piece appear in Free Life; I was frustrated at not having heard back from Liberty or some such publication and you provided me with some encouragement. I'm now 28 and just finished my second book, which will be released in April; I also write for Vanity Fair, Huffington Post, True/Slant, Skeptic, The Fortean Times, The Onion's NYC edition, and am working on a number of long-term projects as well.

Aside from thanking you, I wanted to see if you'd be interested in collaborating on an experimental short story, as I don't know anyone else with a sci-fi background (I sold a couple stories when I was 19 but really haven't done much fiction since. Basically, we would use a shared Google document and alternate writing the paragraphs. Each of us would have a plot in mind that would involve some element that is unknown to the other. The result would be... perhaps interesting. Let me know if this interests you.

Thanks,

Barrett Brown
