Yeah, I've been trying to get animation projects done off and on for years but my various animator friends were all lazy, whereas this guy really wants to get stuff done. He's also interested in rotoscoping, which might perhaps be something we could try for Scallywag (or not, I have no idea), whereas if we were to do a more traditional animated comedy bit, we would probably do so for some other venue or perhaps just to stick it up on YouTube, True/Slant, Huffington Post (they have a comedy section) and whatnot and then see what happens. I'm also going to try to get my other friend, the Hispanic you met when you came by, to stop being morose and help us with this sort of thing as he does design and illustrations and whatnot and is proficient in humor - he just keeps falling in love with bartender chicks and then spends each evening getting drunk and being all morose and Mexican. If he sees us doing stuff, though, he'll want to get involved, and then we'll have another guy to help us with certain aspects of our projects.

We just had a meeting with this guy whom we're trying to get to do a bit of the busywork in terms of minor graphic design/back-end-sticking-articles-up, and he seems to be a hell of an animator as well with some interesting ideas regarding how we could do video, among other things. I think I convinced him to throw in his lot with us. Here's his reel:
