I just want to make sure that you know how much I appreciate everything you've done for me. I'm really trying hard to get to where I ought to have been long ago in terms of financial independence, and I think that should be accomplished soon. I didn't tell you this because I didn't want to worry you, but I had an unusually serious bout with depression that started a little over a year ago and went on for a couple of months; I didn't feel creative at all and was worried that I had somehow lost my ability to write anything worthwhile, and I couldn't really even leave the house for any length of time due to a sort of anxiety I developed. Returning that modem, for instance, sort of horrified me for some reason.Getting that first Vanity Fair piece sold was sort of a turning point and of course I have you to thank for that in terms of getting me the contact info and encouraging me to give it a try.
