Barrett,

The mustache guy was created by Christopher's old partner and I have never seen the original file. However, I have done a trace in Adobe Illustrator so that it can be recreated and scaled up to large sizes. I can send that to you to give to your friend, though if he doesn't have the program it won't work. If that is the case, I can scale it up for the both of you if you tell me how big it needs to be.

If you could write me a generic letter, that would be great. I would appreciate that. Also, I have done some writing in the past and am fairly confident with it but am not quite sure the protocol for putting together writing samples. If you had any light you could shed on the subject, that would be greatly appreciated as well. Thank you for all your help.

Best,
Ian

Howdy-

Do you happen to know where I could obtain the largest version of the Scallywag logo, the profile of the mustache fop man? I'm trying to get some merchandising set in motion but my friend needs a better or bigger version of that profile to do it, apparently.

I sent a couple e-mails out to some editors I've worked with regarding any available graphic design gigs for you. Also, you might want to e-mail my friend Frank Santopadre (franksantopadre@yahoo.com). He writes for Vanity Fair on occasion as well as a couple of other pubs I used to work with; more importantly, he runs a small firm called Comedy Wise which does content and events and whatnot for corporations, television shows, etc., and they've got a nice website already but perhaps might be in need of someone to do graphics for them either for their site or for one of their clients. At any rate, drop him a line and tell him you've worked with me a bit and are available in the future if they need anything done in terms of design.

Skeptic magazine, which I write for on occasion, might also be in need of someone to do design on occasion, but they don't pay their writers so it would probably only be useful to you as something to maybe do once and put on your resume. Let me know if you want me to get in contact with the editor, Michael Shermer.

Also, let me know if you'd like me to write you a generic cover letter; I'm pretty good with those, and can of course do it in such a way as that you can customize each one to the extent necessary.

Barrett,

I am attaching my resume for you to take a look at but I don't actually have a cover letter, I have been writing emails specifically for each job instead. My skill set ranges from design and illustration to video editing and editorial writing. You can see some of my work at www.ianvens.com.

Thanks,
Ian
