Good morning Barrett,

Yes, I have placed an ad for graphic designer, and i'm now going to approach the design schools like Parsons, Pratt to see how I can go about getting an intern. Half my articles are missing,(not published) and i can't get Scott to wake up even as we approach 12...what gives? I feel like the mag's immediate future is on his whim...(as he is the only person capable as of right now to help put graphics up which is essential if articles are to run). As a consequence, i can't send newsletters out or even begin to approach advertisers with stale content (stale in the sense that what is on commented on the site already happened last week and not today...)

As far as Caleb goes, i just left him another message, i hope to hear from him soon, but just to be safe i am going to place an ad for ad sales cause the site needs to be selling ads now.

As for Andy, well u know the story...i hope to galvanize his support so as to approach the leads that need to be pushed on a sign off. I got him to start writing an article last night but his condition may have preempted him from actually completing it...oh dear.

As for the video clip plug in, i think this can be done very soon, Ian and I had already been looking at plug ins and i can have Colwyn my web designer drop by so as to prepare a plug in fairly soon.

I am very excited about the video component- it's going to really blow this mag up.

As for marshall law in the house hold it would be a wonderful short term idea, i sometimes feel like i am living on the film set of a 'clockwork orange.'

also- it would be a nice gesture if you brought one of those antler/deer skinned stools back ...ha

Go ahead and try to find as many other graphic designers as possible for now (this needs to be done anyway); I'll be back tomorrow evening to establish a fascist regime, and will be able to manage these sorts of conflicts and otherwise address anything that needs to be addressed in terms of Scott's behavior. In the meantime, how long will it take to get a video widget set up on the main page? Ava and I have some big plans in terms of video content and the promotion thereof; at any rate, she'll start writing her satirical advice column three times a week quite soon, and upon the completion of my book in a few days I'll be able to provide a steady flow of both video and written content as well. Will you be talking to Caleb soon about getting in touch with the gyms to start off with and then going from there in terms of ad content? I imagine an assured flow of income will help to soothe everyone's nerves. Also, you might ask Andy for contact info for owners of Beauty Bar so that you can follow up with them via phone; if they're on the fence, which they seem to be, perhaps a reduction in rates for one of the smaller ads might be in order?

Barrett,

I'm not sure where Scott's ability to assist with the mag is. The chap is in a real hell, has no immediate way of making money,  he seems to have had a falling out with Tiki (?) and he spends all day locked asleep. By the time he arises it's 10pm and the whole day of publishing is gone and then he has nerve to be mean and aggressive when i press upon him that there are particles to publish. Unlike last time I don't allow myself to get wound up or caught in his web. That said the magazine's association this past week with Scott has proven to be counter productive and his lack of timely follow thru has in part cost the site considerate traffic clicks.

I really don't have any confidence in Scott seeing it thru, his mood swings are violent and he can be very mean and unpleasant to be around. My aim is to replace him immediately as the magazine's credibility will soon be affected as i have no faith even at this hour that he will finish what has been set for him. I would be happy if he got up before 4pm, but really that type of work ethic will run the mag to the ground.

He needs a lot of attention, help and guidance, and i am concerned, anytime he sees money he spends it not on his essentials but his escapism- which is a natural reaction but not one that will necessitate survival.

So at this juncture i will place ads to find alternative help but until then i am forced to rely on him, even if ironically he can't rely on himself ( he is the biggest perceived victim of the world i have ever come across and the tears of misery end here with me...). perhaps he could be asked to help once some committed candidates joined but only as a moral show of faith (cause as an economic one he is at this juncture simply not capable or willing to make it work...)

He has been given a chance with me, i went out and bought him groceries to keep him fed( a small token agreeably)  but i still feel that i am being held captive to a very ill young man who refuses to follow through, or at least to follow thru if and when he feels like it...which is just a crap attitude.

What do you suggest? I don't dare risk exploring my feelings with him for fear of another temper tantrum and purposeful abandonment of the magazine before a replacement has been found.

-Christopher.
