Yeah, it's basically in its final form now, though I'll be tweaking it a little bit based on what ends up going in the remaining chapter; will share it with you now. I think the William Bennett chapter would be better as a sample then the intro chapter, though.

Great... any luck with the intro chapter? I'd like to give them both if they are ready...

Thx!

Hey Barrett,

So the latest version is the one you feel most confident in?

I've also pretty much finished up the introduction chapter, which is about six thousand words and which I'll share with you tomorrow after a bit of tweaking.

Just updated it with some revisions. Added in section, took out first section to form part of introductory chapter.

I shared the Friedman chapter with you last night but am about to change it up today and add in a big section, also make it funnier in general, so wait up a bit before using any of it for excerpts if you can; I should be done doing this in a couple hours.

Okay, I'll either send you the complete Thomas Friedman chapter or finish tweaking both the Bennett and Peretz chapters in order to get them into the best shape possible and will set up a new doc to share with you by the end of Sunday.

I think giving them something about Friedman would be ideal--he's the biggest fish in the barrel, I think. We're looking for one long chapter (15-25 pages) or two shorter ones (~10 pages each). Whatever you think will showcase your writing style and give us the best chance of getting sales excited about it!

Thanks!

Yeah, I'm about seven thousand words into the Friedman chapter so could perhaps pick out something from that. You should have the William Bennett chapter as well; let me know if you don't.

Would you prefer to have several excerpts or a single chapter for the sales team?

Hi Barrett,

Our sales team is looking for an excerpt/sample chapters to sell Hot, Fat & Clouded into retailers. The Martin Peretz partial chapter is all I have so far. Can you help and put together something for us to send them?

Thanks,
Rachel

Hi Rachel and Drew,

Do you have a sample chapter of HOT FAT & CLOUDED you can send?

There was quite a bit of interest in this title among the field reps but they need a taste of Barrett Brown’s writing style and content.  If you send Sophia a pdf or word doc she will format it for the reps Sony e-readers.  This will definitely help with the sell in.
