Holy shit, I just went to the deli on the corner where the Yemenis work and they gave me a bunch of khat, the East African/Arab drug that such folks as Somali gunmen use. Pretty hard to find outside the shittiest places in the world; they had it shipped in from Yemen. Chewing some right now. I'll save you a bit.
2009/12/1 Barrett Brown <barriticus@gmail.com>Now I'm staying up all night to actually finish this chapter on Thomas Friedman, who's the central target of the book. I have Andy on the floor with a notepad and a copy of one of the books from which I'm gleaning making-fun-of-fodder; as soon as I have some of my existing notes smoothed out a little bit, I'll have him call out to me other incidents/notes/bad predictions/inane points that he's discovered, and I'll try to integrate them into the chapter almost randomly and hopefully pull it all together into a coherent whole. Probably would have been best if I had simply taken advantage of the nine months or so in which I had little to do and just written the book in the normal way instead of waiting until the last minute, but this is how Dostoevsky wrote Crime and Punishment, for instance, except without Andy.
I've decided to cut off communications with this Miriam chick entirely before it's too late and I end up having to deal with another Jen-esque character, except worse; this one almost killed her boss with a pint glass and was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, escaped jail time by virtue of a rich family. She probably wouldn't go quietly like Jen did; she would simply kill you with a blunt weapon while I escape through the window. So, having led her on, I must now suddenly disappear like some incorrigible submarine. In a way, I've saved your life. This should turn you on.
How's the neuroscientist and the guy named Larry? What's your affair schedule looking like this week? Were your work meetings all extraordinarily fulfilling? Did you guys get to all the bullet points?2009/12/1 Barrett Brown <barriticus@gmail.com>http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1e/Vladimir_Putin_as_a_child.jpg2009/12/1 Barrett Brown <barriticus@gmail.com>
It does sound like that. Come over ASAP2009/12/1 Catalina Saldaña <cat.salda@gmail.com>That sounds like the end of a family tv show. In the end everyone gets along, has grown up a little and has learned from each other.
Must be tough having all these girls after you. I'll come by sometime this weekend and protect you with my evil ways.
2009/11/30 Barrett Brown <barriticus@gmail.com>Criminal genre of drama should be finished, as have exiled all Puerto Ricans now except for a select few. Straub is less of a whiny crybaby now that he's gotten a part time job and is doing work for me and thus approaching manhood again. Scott's girl moved away, and he's gotten some gigs so can start paying his own rent as well. Melvin came by and made peace yesterday and said he'd pay me the money he owes me.
Jen just sent me a conciliatory e-mail and this other chick Miriam keeps sending me messages and then called me tonight and so I talked to her and then made up an excuse to get off the phone. Miriam is a thousand times crazier than Jen. I've met the girl exactly once. I have to get rid of them both now. You'll probably have to come by soon with some needles.
2009/11/30 Catalina Saldaña <cat.salda@gmail.com>That's not what you mean.
Sounds like things are changing, how will you rid yourself of all the
drama though?
I would like to see your den of awesomeness sometime.
