Have you ever read anything by William Gibson? I just finished Neuromancer on the advice of a friend; I can't even begin to describe how incredible this guy's insights were into what has ended up happening with regards to internet culture and new media, among other related subjects, even though he conceived much of his material in the early '80s. You really, really need to read the fuck out of Neuromancer and anything else the guy's written ASAP. I've actually decided that, as soon as I finish this second book, I'm going to semi-retire from political commentary and start writing sociological science fiction. That's how amazing Gibson is.
