Hey Barrett,
I'm Eric Nelson. I'm a writer living in Ridgewood right off Myrtle
Ave. I used to live at the Tea Factory Lofts on Stockholm smack in the
middle of Bushwick proper and have read the bushwickbk blog and your
column for a while now. I may not always agree with you, but I do love
your anecdotes. I read how you were promoting local artists (please
tell me Ridgewood is included in this....) and would really appreciate
a plug. I'm a zine writer running a micropress called Cup and Saucer
Press out of my bedroom. I've just released the second issue of my
personal zine "Cup and Saucer Chronicles" with essays and interviews,
and am coming out with my first book called "The Silk City Series," a
collection of short stories taking place in the city of Paterson NJ ,
my state of birth. That will be released by Knickerbocker Circus Press
(www.knickerbockercircus.com) in early 2010. My zines (including the
individual short stories) are available by contacting me and are also
for sale at Bluestockings Bookstore in Manhattan.
I do need help on something though, which hopefully bushwickbk readers
can assist em with. I'm working on a thick zine about traveling and
moving, asking everyone the same five simple questions (please feel
free to reply to these if interested):
Please state your first name, age, occupation and city(ies) you were raised in.
1. Where do you currently live? What neighborhood?
2. What brought you to your current city? Apartment?
3. Would you move to another city if the opportunity came? Why or why not?
4. Whats been your favorite place to travel to and why?
5. Please share an interesting experience of either traveling or moving.
I'd greatly appreciate a little blurb. Feel free to throw my email
address on there if you do in fact feel like asking people. Thanks in
advance and keep writing those columns!
best,
eric
