Hi, Barrett -

Good to hear from you!

While I appreciate you being in touch, I don't think this project works for us.  I discussed it with my colleagues, and we felt that if anything, the book should actually be for sales people, with them learning acting techniques to help with sales.  The audience is larger, and I think it's a more natural fit.

Good luck with the project.

Best,
Michael

Hi, Michael-

Barrett Brown here; we spoke via e-mail two years back when I was pitching my second book.

I'm assisting the actor/producer Pat Stack with a book he's writing that's targeted towards actors and other entertainment professionals and which deals with how to advance one's career in the industry by way of tactics used by salesmen. Stack himself started out as an actor (Rambo, Dynasty, Cheers) and a comedian (worked with Nathan Lane, who was his roommate at the time) but moved to sales in the early '90s due to a general career stall. He ended up making millions as Yahoo's first ad salesman; in 2002, he started his own production company and remains a producer to this day. Among other things, the book will draw upon conversations with old industry buddies like Brian Dennehy, with whom he's been working closely for years.

Let me know if you'd like to see the proposal or if you know someone else who might be interested.

Thanks,

Barrett Brown
