Pat-

Here's the cover letter.

Paul-

This is Pat Stack; I understand that Barrett has already spoken to you about my book project. Thanks for agreeing to take a look at the proposal, which I've pasted below.

As Barrett probably already mentioned, the book is targeted towards actors of both the aspiring and working varieties and deals largely with the business of acting. You'll see from the Competition section of the proposal that there are surprisingly few books dealing with this particular niche of subject matter, and none that cover the topic exclusively. Moreover, my book takes what I believe to be a fresh approach by coming at the subject from the standpoint of salesmanship, an art I learned back in the '90s when I shifted from acting to ad sales.

Being in the rare position of having worked as an actor, salesman, and producer, I've gleaned what I think to be some extraordinarily useful insights into how actors can vastly improve their chances of success by achieving a better understanding of how the industry is best approached, as well as how the principles of sales can be used to achieve even better results. Additionally, I've arranged to chat with some of my industry colleagues about their own insights into the profession. In the longer term, I'm planning to arrange a seminar series that would be tied to the book; I think this would be a great asset from the standpoint of any potential publisher.

Again, thanks for taking the time to look over the proposal.

Regards,

Pat Stack
