Barrett,
Thanks for checking back. I still have yet to write out a full artist statement but I think for a quote this will have to do:
"My work borrows shapes from the world of microbiology to create enigmatic forms for the viewer to contemplate."

Hope this helps.
Jim

Hi, Jim-

Thanks for writing. I've just taken a look at your stuff - could you give me a quote regarding your more surreal work (such as this)?

Thanks,

Hey Barrett,
I was reading your column on Bushwick BK and decided to take you up on your offer to write you about the art I'm making.  My name is Jim Stanis and I have work that you can see here: http://www.jimstanis.com   ...although I need to update that site with some new work I've done.  I moved to NYC from Chicago about 3 years ago for a job doing medical illustration and 3D modeling at this place: http://www.thevisualmd.com    ...working there has proven to be a pretty decent day job since I've learned a lot there that I can apply to my own work.  I've shown more than a few times when I lived out in Chicago but I've only shown work out here a couple times and I have yet to show work in Bushwick.  I could let you know more if you're interested... thanks for reading.
