Well, glad to hear that you're a libertarian and a Texan.  I'm a paleocon with strong libertarian leanings.  A "paleolibertarian" or "fusionist", per Frank Meyer, if you will. My Confederate forebears were Texans, Arkansans, Alabamans and North Carolinians.  (I have an application for the SCV if you're interested.)

We'll have to wait and see on R.S. McCain.  Go ahead and make your case.  As near as I can tell, he's no more objectionable than, say, Joe Sobran, who has given talks at conferences featuring holocaust deniers, but who isn't one himself.  Or the vast majority of Jews, for that matter, who abhor intermarriage with the goyim but who nonetheless somehow escape the wrath of the enlightened for so believing and practicing.  We paleocons are anything but politically correct on the issue of race, but this doesn't mean we're racists, if by racism is meant the *hatred* of other races.  But we simply don't care that others hold us in contempt for our race realism.  It's only a matter of time before most people figure out that we're right.

As for McCain, I think he's one of the more interesting writers on the scene.  If he's rubbed shoulders with neo-Nazis, well that indeed is troubling, but my educated guess is that his relationship with them is more complex than you make it out to be.  Like I said, however, make your case.  We'll listen. Here's the principle that guides us when it comes to the issue of race.  You may not be able to relate to it much since you're an atheist, but that's your problem:

Sorry for the "we'll kick you ass" comment, BTW.  I was drunk when I wrote that.  ;-)

Speaking of comments, I've been reading the ones that have been left under the "Atheist Activist" post; it sounds as if you fellows don't think I've made the case for McCain being a racist.

Old Rebel is correct to note that the term "racist" is thrown about haphazardly by leftists in response to such things as opposition to affirmative action. He'll have to take it up with them, though; I'm not attacking McCain for opposing affirmative action or any such small beer, and I'm not in favor of AA myself. I'm calling him a white supremacist because he wrote an article for the white supremacist publication American Renaissance, posted numerous links to the neo-Nazi website Overthrow.com, had a close association with the fellow who ran that organization (the admitted racist William White, who's currently in prison and who threatened Charles Johnson and otherwise conducted himself in a goofy manner over the past decade), posted dozens of internet forum comments in defense of American slavery and white control over non-white populations, and did most of this under a fake name. And that's just a small part of the evidence that's already been put forth by myself and others; I've got something else that I'll be revealing soon, something which speaks more to his lack of journalistic ethics than it does his racism.

All of this is linked to in the articles I've written on McCain for HuffPo, True/Slant, and other venues over the past month or so. I'll write another True/Slant piece soon in response to Old Rebel's various objections.

I would also note this: I am not a leftist. I am a libertarian who often allies with leftists against certain elements of the Republican Party and the modern conservative movement. I'm sure you fellows have an easy time dispensing with dumbass liberal suburban vegetarians who think the Soviet Union was neat and that guns are scary and that every white man is wrong and that every black man is a victim. That's not me.

Anyway, I look forward to this particular fight; I've found Old Rebel to be of a higher caliber than most of the folks I end up tangling with these days.

I've attached a photo of my ancestor Buck Lancaster, Confederate infantryman.

Good enough.   But if it's true that you have more use for opponents than allies, then please don't rely on us to contact you.  You come to us and post comments on our blogs.  We'll kick your ass.

Yeah, I keep close tabs on all my ongoing conflicts so I usually see everything pretty quickly. The Daily Kos thing was actually just me republishing my original response to Old Rebel over there, so there really isn't anything new to which to respond.

Feel free to write any time if you have any questions; I have more use for opponents than allies.

No, just one of his colleagues.  I go by "Snaggle-Tooth Jones" in the comments boxes over there at Rebellion, and in my own blog as well.  Proud member of both the SCV and the League of the South.

Just wanted to make sure you saw that follow-up entry over there.
