Subject: Re: Vanderbilt Chancellor's defense of Klan founder
To: Jonathan Farley <lattice.theory@gmail.com>

Dear Mr. Farley,

Firstly, thank you once again for trying to expedite this process and I
sincerely apologize for my late response. I have spoken to the board of
the BSA and we have been handling this as fast as we can. As you know it
is hard to get anyone to speak on these issues on campus. However, I will
not send this to the Tennessean on behalf of the BSA executive board
because this would be irresponsible of me and and jepordize our abilities
to carry anything on campus if we publically blast Chancellor Gee and Vice
Chancellor Sheonfeld. As stated before in the many emails that we have had
back and forth in the past couple of months, I am handling this. And if
the timetable I am working at is not to your liking please come to
Nashville and carry this out because we always need more man power.
However, I am a student first and my grades are my NUMBER ONE CONCERN!!!
So please once again be patient. And if you want to send this in to the
Tennessean please DELETE THE BLACK STUDENT ALLIANCE'S NAME and send this
in on your own behalf from your location.  I am sorry I have to do this
but I can not have you jepordizing the organizations name and mine as
well. Please, I am begging you to not jepordize the strides we, the
African American, students have made on campus to better our status here.
As said before I am making sure that this is being spoken about and
handled but you have to be patient and understanding. And once again, I am
sorry to come off rude or uncaring because actually I am not I just want
you to understand that I am doing what I can to make sure this is handled
properly.

And I am blind carbon copying this email to my attorney just to make sure
that nothing is misunderstood and I have a witness to my statements to
you.

Sincerely,
Annmarie Payne
