You've been very kind to me, and I've been very kind to you. Other people were, as you know, very unkind to me. That's fine, and it doesn't hurt my feelings or anything as I obviously get plenty of unkind things said to me by virtue of the articles I write and causes I advocate, but it does give me the right to point out that unkind things have been said about me and to try to show why. I didn't attack you at all, gave you a chance to voice your interpretation of the situation, gave you another chance to ensure that the quotes you provided were accurate as well as to expand on them, said nice things about you and the blog itself, and answered all of your later concerns promptly and at length. And obviously you think that I have done something wrong and have said so very colorfully, so now I'm pointing that out, too.

Unethical?  Did I say that?  Or did I say self-interested -- even at the expense of hurting someone who has been kind to you?

I'm pretty sure it was the latter.

Jeff-

Don't call someone a "whore" and accuse him of unethical behavior if you don't want that person to point out that you've called him a whore and accused him of unethical behavior. I shouldn't have to explain this to you.

Figured you'd feel it necessary to take a shot at me.  Just can't help yourself, can you.   Congrats.  That in fact makes you part of the union.

Thanks so much, Barrett.
