We need articles that address what our site is all about - politicians, specifically articles about politicians and religion or Atheism. Look at the following info. that will be going up at the EV site below.
We need articles that focus on what politicians are saying and doing. Why do politicians do this? How popular is it? Do they really believe this stuff or is it just political pandering? Is this stuff on the rise or is it waning? Does the public think it's an embarrassment or do the American people love this stuff? Does it work for the politician?
I think the Shimkus issue alone would make a great article. The environmentalists think he's a kook and he is.
Hope this helps.

Thumbs down to Illinois Rep. John Shimkus (R – Ill) for reading the Bible (Genesis 8 verses 21 and 22) during house hearings on the Clean Energy and Security Act to show his reasons why he thinks global warming doesn’t exist.
On April 22, 2009, Shimkus quoted from the Bible, “Never again will I curse the ground because of man even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood and never again will I destroy all living creatures as I have done. As long as the earth endures sea, time and harvest cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease. I believe that’s the infallible word of god. And that’s the way it’s going to be for his creation.”
“The second verse comes from Matthew 24, And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call and they will gather his elect from the four winds from one end of the heavens to the other. The earth will end only when god declares its time to be over. Man will not destroy this earth. This earth will not be destroyed by a flood. And I appreciate having panelists here who are men of faith and we can get into the theological discourse of that position but I do believe god’s word is infallible, unchanging, perfect.

Thumbs down to Georgia Representative Paul Broun (R – GA) for introducing a Congressional Resolution making the year 2010 The Year Of The Bible. According to Politico: Broun says, it seeks to recognize that the Bible played an integral role in the building of the United States, including providing the basis for our freedom of religion that allows Muslims, Hindus and even atheists to vocalize their own beliefs.

Thumbs up to Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D – NY) who opposes the Congressional Resolutions making 2010 The Year of The Bible. Said Nadler, “That’s an endorsement of religion by the federal government, and we shouldn’t be doing that.”

Hi, Ellen-
Been busy with some new projects, but am finally about to do a couple of articles to put up on the site. Is there a particular issue you'd like to me to address first? Was thinking of first doing a piece on school prayer, partly on the ways in which our opponents commonly misrepresent the law to make it appear as if it is illegal for individual students to pray in schools, as well as misrepresenting U.S. history and the constitution; let me know if that sounds good to you or if there's something more pressing.
Thanks,
