Hi Barrett,

Thanks for answering the ad in Craig's list. As stated, I am a green building consultant.  Please check the website below to see what I do.  I started the company 6 months ago.  I am looking for a couple of people to write articles for the Community page.  I could do it myself but I'm very slow and my time is better spent looking for work.  This page will examine some of the current environmental issues we are facing and how they affect our lifestyles, values and culture.  Its purpose will be to provide exposure to what we as a society are doing to our natural environment, show how we can live better with nature and most importantly, provide a forum for people to get involved.

It could consist of 3 columns or topics:

Green Building, which I can do.

Environment/community

             Recycling

Composting

Automatic doors

Organic Food

Green Markets

Organic clothing, bedding, etc

Current Events ion NYC

Urban Farming

Bottled Water

Energy

Coal

Nuclear

Natural Gas

Solar

Wind

Geothermal

Algae, biofuels

As you can imagine, I am struggling to get by in this economy.  I'll give you freedom to do what you want but will still provide general guidance and have the final edit so that it fits in with the image I am putting out there.  I would want to try limit the 1st person somewhat, and make it more authoritative than a typical blog.  Most people are quoting $10 to $20 per article for something of this length.  We can always renegotiate later when business starts picking up.  I don't think the average person has the attention span or time to read more than 4 to 6 paragraphs, so I would want to try to keep it to somewhere around there.  For something that short, every word counts.  If it's a subject requiring more than that, we could lengthen it or break it up into 2 articles.

If you are still interested, let me know via email and I'll call you next week to meet in person or talk on the phone.  I've had a lot of response from the ad so it may some time to get back to you.

Thank you,

Howdy-

I understand that you're looking for a blogger to do a couple of pieces a month on environmental issues, and I'd like to be considered. My work has appeared in dozens of publications including Vanity Fair and Skeptic, and I currently serve as a blogger for The Lazy Environmentalist in addition to a few articles on green subjects that I've done for other outlets.

I've pasted a couple of links below; please take a look and let me know if you'd like to discuss this further.

Thanks,
