Howdy-

I understand that you're looking for freelancers to do bar reviews, and I'd like to be considered for the gig. I've done nightlife writing for a variety of publications including The Onion A.V. Club, and I also write on other topics for dozens of publications including Vanity Fair. I've pasted a sample review below; take a look and let me know if you're interested.

Thanks,

Wreck Room

Though not quite a dive, Bushwick's Wreck Room is a drinking man's bar, the sort of place where you borrow a few bucks from a friend because you blew all your money at Wreck Room the night before. Your friend won't have to lend you much; pricing is one of Wreck Room's great charms, with the beer in particular being as cheap as you'll find in any bar above the equator. But there's plenty else to do here other than borrowing money; this is one of the few places in the area that sports a pool table, for instance, and the weekly bingo nights have become a major neighborhood event (which says quite a bit about the neighborhood). Wreck Room also plays sporadic host to live performances by area punk bands, which apparently still exist.
