Barret, Please forward to Ellen, as I am interested in getting more involved in this issue. And organization is important, something especially difficult for atheists, who I suspect generally don't like any "authorities," something that can't be completely eliminated from organizations. As a way of introduction, let me reference a few of my diaries on this issue. The most recent was how Obama is increasing prayer in public events. I also did a whole series reporting Newdows suit to prevent prayer at the inauguration, including the details of how the suit treated the unconstitutional appendage of So Help Me God. This one, which made the rec list, give the details near the end of exactly what the suit said, which was NOT to prevent the president from saying these words, only the Chief Justice. The AP and Washington Post mis-reported this, and this is how the public percieves this suit. It is important that you, and others who have the opportunity to be in front of the public have the details straight. It was a nuanced suit that reflected the balance of the first amendment establishment-free excercise clause. Look forward to working with you and your associates.
