Yea ,that makes sense, B. My friend Steve Daly, recently laid off by Entertainment Weekly after 21 years, says the freelance thing is extra tough now because magazines have cut their freelance budgets drastically (and are insisting that paid staffers pick up any slack).
Troubling....as are many aspects of this.
I'm hanging in there, man. Need more work, obviously (waiting to hear about a possible job at VH-1). Sorry our lunch never came off. Can we reschedule? I have some thoughts/ideas about things....

I actually sent off about six or seven clips/query letters to some editors of the more prominent mags a couple weeks back and Mike was the only one to even reply; seems like a good guy, talked to him on the phone briefly yesterday.
