Barrett,
Very unfortunately, Secret History has already been reviewed in Fortean Times. (It got one out of 10 because quite a few of the illustrations were decent, and I had to read the review very carefully for libel!) I really enjoyed your review, though, so I'd happily run it on my own site, the lovely nthposition (info at http://www.nthposition.com/about_us.php). Will you let me know whether this strikes you as a good idea? Are you interested in reviewing for FT or was it just this book that inspired you?
Enjoy election day it will be wonderful to wake up in a week and not have to listen to any more Sarah Palin paleofolksiness.
Best,
ValVal-
I'd like to submit the following piece for your consideration; it's a moderately humorous book review of the poorly-written "international bestseller" The Secret History of the World, which itself appears to have been written by one of your countrymen. It runs at about 1200 words or so.
As for me, I'm the author of Flock of Dodos: Behind Modern Creationism, Intelligent Design, and the Easter Bunny, which was released last year to praise from Rolling Stone, Skeptic, and other sources. My other work has appeared in dozens of publications including National Lampoon, The Onion, and American Atheist, and I serve as director of communications for Enlighten the Vote, an American political action committee that advocates for the First Amendment of the United States constitution.
The book review may be found below; please take a look and let me know whether or not it's your cup of tea.
Regards,
