Ha. I'm from Texas and attended an Episcopal school where I was routinely denounced for my lack of piety, so I know better than to argue about the existence of God. I agree with you very strongly about emphasizing civil liberties and the Constitution, and plan on doing so in our written materials and any interviews. I'm particularly keen on dispelling the widespread myth concerning the Founders being Christian activists or some such, because that's an argument that's easy to win insomuch as the Founders made their views pretty damned explicit. I'll forward you my typical response to these sorts of e-mails in a moment from my EV e-mail account.
