Sirs-

I wanted to query you on whether you might be interested in seeing a piece I'm planning on writing this week. My work has appeared in dozens of publications including National Lampoon, The Onion, McSweeney's, and several libertarian-oriented public policy journals, have served as a contract writer for Fox Business Channel and other TV projects, and wrote a well-received book called Flock of Dodos: Behind Modern Creationism, Intelligent Design, and the Easter Bunny, which was released last year. I've been a National Review subscriber for about a year now.

Tonight, I'll be attending what I'm assuming will be a wacky little event up here in New York; it's basically a debate/discussion among old left types on the subject of what Obama means, exactly. Here's the description from an e-mail they're sending out:

"A debate featuring:

Michael Hirsh* [National Political Committee member, Democratic Socialists of America; labor journalist and member of the editorial board of New Politics and Democratic Left]

Glen Ford [Executive Editor, Black Agenda Report -- blackagendareport.com]

In an age of vast political and economic inequalities, where the government regularly acts to advance the interests of the wealthy elite, what can be done to democratize society, both politically and economically?

How should movements for economic and social justice relate to the electoral arena in their effort to build a democratic, just, environmentally sustainable society?

In particular, what does the Obama campaign mean for these struggles? How, if at all, should these movements relate to the Democratic Party?

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

[Organized by the Radical Film and Lecture Series]"

I'd like to write it up as a short, humorous piece and was curious as to whether this sort of thing might interest you, and, if so, if you'd like to it be of a particular length or if you have any other preferences of that sort.

Please let me know if you'd like to see the article when it's completed.

Thanks,
