Wow, each of those sound great. At the moment, I'm working as a marketing copywriter for financial newsletters - but with Wall Street going the way it is, who knows how long this'll remain a good option. So you caught me at a great time - I'm actively expanding my business. Anything you're looking for folk to do, let me know and we'll see how I can contribute.

I remember Bob... is he still down in DC? I'll be in touch about the case - at the least, I'll want to know which state you went with, and hence have a better idea which state I should target.

As it happens, I'm actually in NYC this weekend - I got tix for the second-to-last Shea game ever. I'm not a Mets fan, but I am a baseball fan, and that feels historic. Plus, never been to Shea. Last chance.

But if you're around this weekend, perhaps we can carouse then. I get in Friday night, leave Sunday sometime - Saturday is the game - but otherwise, I'm free.

Glad to hear you're back in Fortress America; I seem to recall you
being out in Asia back in 2005. You wouldn't need to make any videos
of any sort, although it's very fun to do; I simply did it just to
bring more evidence that I've been trying to collect from him, but the
Writer's Weekly thing should be sufficient.

My lawyer, Mirna Hariz, is an old friend of mine from way back. She's
a tough bitch, too. She's doing this on consignment; I'm going to kick
twenty percent of the recovered money her way. Not sure if I'll be
suing Vince in Texas or New York, but I'll figure it out soon,
although it may not even come to that; his only trump card was being
hidden, and now he's been found, so, you know, he's pretty much
fucked, especially now that's probably been Googling me and thereby
discovering that I have somewhat more power than I did back in the
days when I was a 23-year-old, half-starved freelancer.  I also spoke
to Bob Constantini this morning; he's interested in coming after him
as well.

Let me know if you have any more questions, and feel free to give me a
ring at 512-560-2302. Also, let me know when you're coming up next; I
am very fond of drinking. Also, we should talk about some other
projects; I'm director of communications for a PAC now, plus I'm doing
some stuff for National Lampoon again and writing for TV and some
other random things, and could always use a good writer with whom to
collaborate.

Hi Barett,

Thanks for letting me know! I absolutely am interested in getting involved,
though I'm really not sure what the next step would be. Will I need to make
a similar claim video to yours? Would your lawyer perhaps be interested in
taking on another client for this case?

Thanks again for keeping me in the loop, and doing so much of the legwork
here. I definitely owe you one.

And as it happens, I'm currently living not that far away (in Vermont). I
come to NYC often - we should grab a drink next time I'm around...

This is Barrett Brown; you may remember that I filed a complaint
against evote.com with Writer's Weekly back in 2005 or thereabouts. I
have located Vincent Garofalo, who lives in New York and teaches at a
karate dojo in Manhattan. Luckily, I now live in Brooklyn and was able
to track him down and present him with a letter from my lawyer. I had
this filmed in order to verify that he is aware of my attempt to
collect the debt. Here's a link to the clip:

If you're interested in getting involved, let me know; I would think
that you could easily find a lawyer up here to take the case on
consignment, since it's pretty much open-and-shut. That's what I'm
doing.
