Hi Freelancers:
We've got a fun new property that we're developing into greeting cards and we could use your help. Attached is a PDF containing 13 science fiction movie posters from 1950s. We're looking to turn each one into a greeting card by coming up with funny movie titles and text for the posters, hopefully pertaining to specific occasions like birthdays. A few are well-known movie posters, such as "Attack of the 50 Foot Woman." In that case, the title could be a be take-off of the actual title (i.e. - "Attack of the Menopausal Woman"). For lesser-known movies like "Wasp Woman," we can come up with any funny title that sounds like an old sci-fi movie. For instance, the Wasp Woman title could be "The Man Eater" and the text could say, "She convinced him that he couldn't be happy unless she was happy!" We can even make some minor graphical changes to the posters to fit the jokes.
If you are interested in submitting some ideas, please write your entries in an email or Word attachment, numbered 1-13 as in the PDF. To make things easier on our end, please put your full name in parentheses after each entry and please limit your submission to two ideas per poster. As a reminder, we will pay $150 for each idea that gets published as a card. The due date is next Friday, Sept. 12th at 3 pm EST.
For those of you who submitted to our last Talk Bubbles assignments (including the Norman Rockwell cards), Ron has finalized the selections for our September introduction. The selected captions are attached. If one of your entries was selected, please send an invoice ($150 per selected caption) to the address below for payment. If none of your submissions were selected, please don't be discouraged. There are many considerations that go into which cards get published (sell-ability, occasion, popularity of certain themes), so unfortunately a lot of funny ideas do not make it to print for one reason or another. That said, we have a new line of Talk Bubbles cards coming out in December and Christmas entries that you submitted are still eligible. Thank you to everyone who submitted last time and we look forward to seeing your ideas on this new project.
Regards,
Nick Prueher
